COPPER

Copper plating is the process where a layer of copper is electrodeposited on steel or

aluminum through Rack or Barrel plating. It creates an excellent undercoat for additional coating.

Advantages:

  • Outstanding undercoat in a plating process

  • Excellent conductivity and an even protective barrier between base metal and plate

  • Provides good coverage especially for parts that have complex geometric shapes

  • Under nickel, improves adhesion and appearance while adding corrosion resistance

  • Can be used as a masking agent to prevent heat treatment

  • RoHS compliant

Copper Plating Quality

Our copper plating can provide an excellent undercoat for different types of components. Particularly if you need to separate the top layer from the underlying material, copper can act as a good intermediate material. Copper is also a good conductor and can improve the adhesion of a topcoat (either paint or a plated coating). With so many benefits from using a copper plating solution, a growing number of manufacturers are using it to help achieve the quality finish they need.

Copper Plating Aluminum Can Enhance its Longevity

A major reason for using copper plating is to improve the durability of components that are routinely exposed to the atmosphere or have contact with corrosive agents as part of their function. Engineers in the aerospace, telecommunications, medical and transport industries are increasingly using a copper coating on aluminum components to protect them from surface oxidization and provide a good base layer on which to plate cadmium or a similar top layer.
